Chapter Two

"Oh I see her!" Rin exclaimed. Rin pointed forward into the direction of the hill. She was riding on A-un.  As they got closer Rin could make out the shapes of children, or at least little figures that she assumed was the village childern. Inuyasha and Kagoma looked forward as well, they also saw the women on the hill with the children.  They couldn't make out much details about the women.  They just saw a figure that was taller then the others.

"Weird that the village has let this women and the children be out to play when there is such a big demon aura" Inuyasha said to Kagoma as they were heading in the direction of the Lady Kasumi.
"Aren't you excited to see this women on top of the hill Miroku?" Inuyasha said. He was trying to taunt him for the comment Miroku made before.

"Inuyasha, how dare you! I no longer am in search of a women to bare my children! I have Sango!" Miroku said in a defensive tone.  Miroku was offended by this, and he also was slightly fearful of Kirara kicking him off of her back if she said anything about flirting with women.

The children looked in the direction that Rin and the others were coming from. They saw a demon with silver hair bounding his way to them, a twin tailed cat demon, and also a two headed demon. Some of the children shrieked in fear of their lives,  as others wanted to hid.  The children had never seen demons before. The children have always just heard tales about demons and how brave people would slaughter demons, or how demons only came to pick up bad children.  

Lady Kasumi was calm and she also had a soft look on her face still. She told the children it was alright, they are going to be safe, and to come and gather around her. The children where scared and heisted to come over to her. But they did eventually come to her side. Some of the children held onto Lady Kasumi's clothing and her. The kids still felt scared but they also felt secure around Lady Kasumi.  

Lady Kasumi watched as the group got closer and closer to her. She could still smell the scent that Sesshomaru shared. As Inuyasha and the others got closer she also started to pick up on another scent, a human scent. And she also smelt another scent of the herbs that the monk in town gave to Rin.  The children clung to her tightly as the demons came right in front of them. The children felt fearful until they noticed there was humans on each of the demons. The expressions on the children faces changed from fearful to amusement. The children no longer were scared of the demons. In fact the children were interested and they wanted to pet them.

When Inuyasha and the others landed, Rin was the first one that the children took notice of. She slipped off of A-un. And at that moment the children of the village became hooked with the sight of Rin and her two headed demon. She was still holding onto the leash and the children were amazed. The children that were around Lady Kasumi let go and wonders there way over to Rin. Rin smiled softly as she then found herself immersed with questions from the young faces. As Rin was taking in all of the questions, the children also started to talk amongst themselves.  

One of the children approached Rin and asked if they could pet a-un.

"Only if your gentle" Rin said as she patted A-uns side. A-un beat down its to great heads and the children started to pet A-un. Some of the children let out giggty laughs as they petted A-un.

Miroku watched Rin and how she was handling herself with the village children. Rin seemed to have been doing well. After Miroku had two daughters of his own he noticed that he was starting to care more about the children in Villages and less about the women he would lust after. Apart of that might have just been because of his father duties and the fact that Rin for a long time hadn't been around humans. Miroku got off of Kirara and he joined Inuyasha and Kagome. They made there way to Kasumi.

Kasumi had her eyes on the children as Inuyasha and the others approached her.  She hadn't taken her eyes off of the children as she asked "silver haired demon, Are you related to Sesshomaru? I can smell him and your fathers scent on you."

Inuyasha instances when people ask him about his brother was a fight was always about to happen, so he placed his hand on the Tetusagie.  Kagome looked worried and was about to say something as Lady Kasumi spoke.
"Don't.  " She warned. "I'm not the person you should be wielding that sword too And if you even try to use that fang on me, I will waste you before those children can even turn around" Her voiced hissed with its warning. The wind also carried her words and they sunk right into him.

Kagome looked stunned as she watched Inuyasha remove his hand from his sword. This was something even Inuyasha's brother couldn't get him to do. Miroku stayed quiet as this was going on. The Monk was busy studying what was going on.

"I can tell your a half demon and I can sense that the sward you have at your side is your fathers. All I want to know is your name." She stated.
"Look Lady!" Inuyasha yelled. "Don't  order me around, and don't call me half demon. How do you even know my father? And why should I give you my name when you haven't given me yours."
Inuyasha temper was started to act up.
 
"I fought him. I fought Sesshomaru too" She stated. "And My name Is Kasumi. I presumed that the monk told you my name"

Inuyasha looked stunned when Kasumi told him that she fought with Sesshomaru, let along his father. She didn't have a demon scent so how could she fight either of them? Sesshomaru would have wasted her in no time.  Besides that, his father died a long time ago. Inuyasha grew with angry as this all bubbled in his head.  "Like hell you did!" Inuyasha yelled.

"His name is Inuyasha. " Miroku said. "He is being stubborn, he isn't normally like this" he stated.

Kasumi who was still looking after the children, her eyes darkened. She let out a sigh and then cleared her throat as she asked the children to come to her. The children stopped bugging A-un and Rin and went to Lady Kasumi.
"Today has been an exciting day. You all got to met a real life demon!" She exclaimed. "Its going to become evening soon. I think you all should go back to the village. Tonight is a special night. I have a feeling your parents are waiting for you all too." She said softly as she spoke to the village children.

The children wished Lady Kasumi a good night, and told the travelers to have a good day, and they also hope that they can play again soon. The children then started to walk down to the village on a path. The path way was light by a trickle of lights that would turn off behind the kids.  Lady Kasumi stood in silence as she watched the children, until she could no longer see them, or the lights. As lady Kasumi watched the children leave, Rin and A-un approached the group.  

Lady Kasumi then turned around to face Inuyasha and the others. Her big green eyes were staring back at them.  Inuyasha looked at her face, and noticed it. She wasn't a human at all, but she was a demon.  Inuyasha placed his hand back on the Tetsusaiga. He was ready to fight her.

"So the old monk DID want us to come up here and kill you! Your the one I could smell when I entered this village!" Inuyasha said. Inuyasha was filling up with angry and he was accusing her of something she wasn't doing.

"Kagome!" Miroku yelled. "Stop him."

"Inuyasha, what are you doing!" Kagome yelled. "Sit boy!"

Inuyasha body fell flat into the ground with a heavy thud. As he hit the ground you could hear him moan in the pain. Lady Kasumi just watched the event unfolded happen. She didn't plan on killing him, but at most disarming him.

Rin stood there holding onto the leash of A-un and she was shocked and surprised. "Lord Inuyasha..." she said.

"Who are you?" Kagome asked. "And why are you, a demon, in this village?"

"I'm Lady Kasumi. I'm the Gaurdian of this village." She stated. "Inuyasha. Before you try and kill me, Sniff the air, Can you even pick up my scent. Do I even smell like the demon you sensed before?"

Lady Kasumi was displeased. She was going to explain who she was, she just didn't expect such a reaction from Sesshomaru's brother. Sesshomaru wouldn't have reacted the way Inuyasha had. Not that Sesshomaru would have even listened, but she was still shocked by Inuyasha's behavior because it was nothing like what she saw from Sesshomaru or Sesshomaru's father.

Inuyasha was just getting up from the blow that Kagome gave him. As he got up Inuyasha started to smell the air, and he noticed it, there was no scent to the women. There was no scent, he could still smell the other demon from far away, but the women in-front of him had nothing.

Inuyasha was puzzled, Kasumi had green cat eyes, just like a demon. But she had no aura like a demon would have. And everything else about her seemed human.

Lady Kasumi sighed softly and shook her head. "I am a demon," she thought to herself,  "I'm just protecting this village. But at this point I cannot tell him this."  Lady Kasumi had to think of a way to get them to calm down so she could speak and explain things. Lady Kasumi had just watched Inuyasha exposed twice and she wasn't interested in a third time.

"I should explain things," Lady Kasumi said. "Before sun set, lets make our way to my home. I'll explain  everything when we get there. Plus I have supplies for whats going to happen tonight" Lady Kasumi Explain.

Kagome, was interested in hearing her out, along with Miroku. They both were also curious to find out what supplies she was talking about that might help with tonight. Rin was curious too.

They all agreed to going to Lady Kasumi's home. Kasumi lead the way to her home, she kept up with Inuyasha and the others, there speed was a lot slower then she was use too. But she didn't say anything. On their way to Kasumi's home, she was thinking about what to tell them.
